Tanzania Police to Inspect Madrasas (and Sunday Schools) "to Check if Their Teachings are  Patriotic or Destructive."

The Tanzania Police Force has said it will be passing through houses of worship to inspect the training taught to children in madrasas and Sunday schools to understand the type of teaching offered.
Tanzania Police Chief IGP Simon Sirro made the remarks while commenting on his four-day visit to Rwanda and said they have learned from it, so it is important to find out the training objectives offered.
“We have seen our fellow religious schools, for example these Madrasas, for example in those Sunday schools there is a special squad to see the training being taught. Is the training provided for patriotism, or it is training for the destruction of the country,“ Sirro told reporters in Dar es Salaam.
Sirro said the process was good and that they would engage religious leaders and the anti-terrorism team to see how through the training taught in religious schools and educational institutions around the world, to the university level, to see if training builds or destroys young people.
In addition, he urged the community to provide information if it is found that someone us behaving in contast with society’s norms , and that the person does not have to be imprisoned, but they could help him to be a good member of the society and continue with their lives.
