ISCAP Claim to Have Killed 7 Mozambican Soldiers in Cabo Delgado

The Islamic State Central African Province (ISCAP) took credit for the killings of 7 Mozambican soldiers following a clash at Mueda, Cabo Delgado.

Leading expert on terrorism and extremist, Jasmine Opperman tweeted photo of the ISCAP claim yesterday.

Mueda was on spotlight in late September when Mozambican troops and their counterparts from the  Southern African Development Cooperation mission in Mozambique (SAMIM) targeted an insurgent base in the Chitamba area. It was claimed that 17 insurgents were killed, including a cell leader: Sheikh Nijle North, as tweeted by Opperman

Last year, on November 8, Mueda was a scene of a gruesome attack when the Islamist militants beheaded more than 50 people, chopped up the bodies of victims and abducted women.

The bodies of dismembered victims were found scattered across a forest clearing on Monday after a football pitch was turned into an 'execution ground'. Villagers were caught and killed as they tried to escape the violence while another group of militants set homes alight during the attack.

Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday that a “Christian village” of Nambini in Macomia district of Cabo Delgado province was attacked by ISCAP. Two alleged spies were captured and killed. Also, houses were burned a destroyed and properties destroyed.

However, at time of the time of writing this post, neither the Mozambican government nor local media has reported about the incidents.
