Kenyan Govt Establishes Specialized Uni to Train Spies

The government of Kenya has established a specialized university to train its spies.

The move is aimed at ensuring that the agents stay ahead of the current and emerging security challenges through advanced intelligence gathering.

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha announced the establishment of the institution through a gazette notice.

Dubbed the National Intelligence and Research University College, the institute will identify, admit and train qualified students drawn from the intelligence community.

It will be a constituent college of the National Defense University Kenya, which received a charter on May 27th, 2021.

“There is established a university college to be known as the National Intelligence and Research University College which shall be a constituent college of the National Defence University- Kenya,” the gazette notice reads in part.

“The status accorded to the University College by this Order as a constituent college of National Defence University-Kenya shall be transitional only.”

CS Magoha noted that the university college may initiate necessary administrative and legal measures to ensure that it becomes a fully-fledged university with the approval of the National Security Council.
